The Hush: Review

The Hush by Sara Foster is a UK-based post-apocalyptic novel in which stillbirths have suddenly skyrocketed. The government is enacting sweeping measures to attempt to avert a population crisis. Young women have started to disappear. Against this backdrop, one of the main characters becomes pregnant and suddenly fears for her own safety. She and her family have to elude the government while facing an uncertain future for her pregnancy.

Overall, The Hush is a fast-paced novel with compelling and interesting characters. As with many near-future novels, the characters and situations are all the more meaningful since we are just one serious calamity away from living in that world.
